I soon realised that I needed to be a painter, my first love and have continued to be fully committed and excited by any subject. A touch of light on a piece of furniture or fruit, a pot or the colour of a flower or the sky will take me off on a journey.  It’s a spontaneous feeling.  I go straight in with the paint with great energy to capture whatever set me off in the first place.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/A-TANGERINE-SORT-OF-A-DAY-27X30-1.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-247" title="A TANGERINE SORT OF A DAY 27X30-1" src="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/A-TANGERINE-SORT-OF-A-DAY-27X30-1-300x243.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="243" /></a>I use any medium at hand but my first love is oils.  I paint mostly around my house and studios but enjoy painting outdoors, capturing the mood of the changing landscape.  On these occasions I use acrylics or mixed media but will sometimes put oils over the top when I am back in my studio.</p>
<p>I find the hardest part of painting is talking about it.  It comes from such a deep place but I hope that my work speaks for me.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Lobster-II-mixed-media-on-paper-770mmx570mm.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-212" title="Lobster II mixed media on paper 770mmx570mm" src="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Lobster-II-mixed-media-on-paper-770mmx570mm-211x300.jpg" alt="" width="211" height="300" /></a><span style="font-size: medium;">Over the years, I have been fortunate that much of my work has been able to be based on life experiences, including occasional adventures in Australia and the Far East, Canada, the States and Europe, although generally most of my creative time is spent near my home in the Chiltern Hills, walking the banks of the Thames or increasingly exploring the beautiful &#8216;Creekscapes&#8217; of the south Cornish coast.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Grazing-beside-the-Thames-Cookham-Reach-mixed-media-on-paper-290mmx300mm.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-211" title="Grazing beside the Thames Cookham Reach mixed media on paper 290mmx300mm" src="http://www.bespokeframing.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Grazing-beside-the-Thames-Cookham-Reach-mixed-media-on-paper-290mmx300mm-300x282.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="282" /></a>Our nautical exploits have always inspired my sailing paintings, but more typically subjects range from river scenes to local landscapes, combinations of fruit, flowers and random objects collected from local junk shops and jumble sales.  As my domestic menagerie has expanded, so to has my interest in painting the local livestock so you will now find the odd chicken and cow or even more exotic species amongst my work.</span></p>
